The latest State of Zero Waste Municipalities Report is here – Discover what’s driving change!

We’re thrilled to share the 5th edition of the State of Zero Waste Municipalities Report, our most in-depth overview yet of how cities and communities are making zero waste a reality.

This year’s report highlights significant progress, Zero Waste Europe (ZWE) and the Mission Zero Academy (MiZA) are now working with 86 municipalities in 18 countries, reaching over 18 million people, a 10% increase from 2023. Inside, you’ll find:
  • Success stories from Europe and around the globe, from Accra to Santiago.
  • A special focus on textile waste policies, spotlighting four top-performing European municipalities tackling one of today’s most urgent waste challenges ahead of the 2025 EU mandate for separate textile collection.
  • Country-specific chapters available in local languages for easier access and relevance.
Whether you're a policymaker, activist, or simply passionate about waste reduction, in this report you'll find insights and ideas to drive meaningful change in your community.
