Hi there, dear Reader!

Welcome back! We trust you've recharged your batteries over the seasonal break - here's to a joyful 2024.

For those looking to kickstart the year with some positive actions, city representatives can now sign up for two upcoming in-person trainings scheduled for March – one in Berlin focusing on plastic prevention measures and another in Lyon covering bio-waste.

If you're not planning to travel this spring but are looking for insightful readings, we suggest the ZWE guidelines on how to locally sort, collect, and reuse textiles, as well as our recent publication on the financial investments municipalities must consider to establish the right waste infrastructure.

We have compiled a short list of things you might find useful:

  • The latest ZWE paper for municipalities on how to collect, sort, and reuse textile waste locally, provides guidance on choosing the right strategies, as well as several case studies describing different potential setups.

  • Our introductory guide offers a broad overview of the financial investments incurred by several European municipalities for the set up of key waste infrastructure such as recycling, reuse and repair centres and door-to-door collection systems. The report is now also available in Ukrainian.
